An online portal that embodies all things related to the Califa group experience when visiting the area.
The Califa is a boutique hospitality group, representing a collection of restaurants, bars, and hotels in the idyllic holiday destination Vejer de la Frontera, Andalucia Spain.
The group had different CMSs and domains for each business, dramatically impacting their SEO and resources as the sites were extremely difficult to maintain while providing no cross-promotion between the businesses. Our job was to address these issues, and create an entity that embodies all things related to the Califa group experience when visiting the area.
We concluded that the Califa group of websites should be merged into a single portal and be rebranded in line with the umbrella brand Califavejer.com. This would empower them to represent all of their businesses on the same CMS, at the same time supporting cross-promotion between the brands.
Our content strategy was designed around the core values of the brand: first class tourism services with gastronomy, culture, news and events featured weekly. A responsive design was critical; a visitor who’s browsing through restaurant menus and special offers needs to be able to book directly with hotels and contact the various businesses easily.
The site now showcases regular news, what’s on, special promotions, up-to-date restaurant menus, high-quality glossy images, events and content relating to the origins and history of the town.
All of the brands are now number 1 in organic search rankings on Google.
